Polymer Upgrade

Secret Menu

Congratulations, you've found our secret menu. Here you can find products which don't fit in, are oddball, we can't produce in large volume, don't have the level of polish we expect from our standard line of products, are experimental, are pet projects, aren’t quite ready for prime-time, etc. Keep an eye on this space as we don't advertise it, and you never know what you'll find here, but don't forget this page exists for you: our loyal fans and customers.

Polymer Upgrade

from $10.00

Polymer/resin rings are not as durable as metal rings, there really is no way around it, however they are much lighter and offer a distinctly different feel than metal. All polymers are not created equal though. We’ve been conducting experiments on a new polymer alloy, used in aerospace and industrial applications for high strength extreme toughness applications. These experiments have been going on for a while now, and the results are incredibly encouraging, revealing substantially better durability and longevity than our standard polymer when used in rings. One of our customers used a size ~4 Chinese Spur Ring in this material for a year and had this to say about it:

“After a solid year of use I feel better about giving you feedback on the stronger polymer version of your spur ring. It’s preformed well with no signs of fatigue and only a minor chip to show for wear. For reference I’m using a Grozer Assyrian bow that’s rated at #57 at 28” draw tho I’m pulling it to 31”. I’d guess the poundage to be in the neighborhood of 66 at that draw length. This ring has become my favorite and I don’t even use the metal ring anymore. I like the lighter weight, rounded edges and again so far it’s held up well with moderate use and fairly heavy bow. Thanks again for the product.”

What is the catch? Well there are two actually. The first is that it is much more difficult for us to work with, necessitating a higher price and preventing it from displacing our standard polymer. The second is that you can have it in any color you like, so long as it is black.

This listing is for the polymer upgrade only, it must be purchased IN ADDITION TO THE STANDARD POLYMER RING/S TO WHICH IT WILL BE APPLIED. This can be applied to our standard polymer ring designs to enhance their durability, simply add this as well as the base ring of your choice to your cart, and check out. This service can also be combined with our ring decoration to further embellish such rings. (pictured)
