This nock project was initiated by, and completed with the generous help from, Mike Loades. We owe him a huge thank you for his invaluable help and expertise on this, and many other, projects. The details of this project is covered in our blog. (PART 1) (PART2) In short, the purpose of this project was to bring the form and function of the mughal style shallow bulbous nock into the 21st century, what with our narrower strings and skinnier shafts.
What started as a single nock ultimately branched out into two variants. While Mike deserves credit for both variants, we had to call the other one something so it was named after Beowulf who requested it. The Mike Loades bulbous nock pairs well with thin arrows, as it is rather thin at it's base. Beowulf's variant has the same bulbous design, but a slightly deeper string groove and a slightly wider base. In the photos to the left, the MikeL variant can be seen in black and Beowulf variant in our ivory material.
These nocks fit on a standard 11 degree taper, and are sold by the dozen. THERE IS A CATCH: we form these nocks directly to the arrow shafts. If you order this product, the expectation is that you'll supply us with either your arrow shafting with 11 degree taper or nock adapters such as THESE. Otherwise we'll be unable to fill your order.
